Why now

Where your buyers now start

The research surface has moved. What gets said about you on it is assembled from sources you don't own.

Search — the surface you optimised for

Ten ranked links · the reader chose

A query returned a list. The reader decided which source to trust and clicked through to you. You could see the query, the impression and the click.

AI answers — the surface you are on now

One synthesised answer · the engine chose

The engine reads the sources, decides what is true about you, and states it as fact. There is no list to choose from, and often no click through to you at all.

You cannot see it — no rank tracker, no impressions, no Search Console. Nothing in your analytics records what an engine just said about you.

You can still change it — answers are rebuilt from live sources. Change what the sources say and the answer moves. That is what this audit is for.

What creates a risk

Three factors that make this worth measuring now

Answers are built from sources you don't own

Engines assemble what they say about you from third-party pages, forums, directories and press coverage — most of it outside your control, much of it out of date.

Confident answers, unverified facts

An engine states your products, positioning, leadership and numbers as fact, with no flag when it is unsure. A wrong answer reads exactly like a right one.

AI is becoming a primary research surface

Customers, investors, journalists, candidates and partners increasingly use AI as their first-pass research tool — and often their only one.

What the audit answers

Four dimensions of how AI represents you

Each one mapped to the interventions that change it.

  • Visibility & share of voice

How often your brand appears in the AI answers that matter to your category, and how that compares with the competitors surfacing alongside you.

  • Factual accuracy

Where engines state things about your brand that are wrong, outdated or belong to another company — catalogued, scored by severity and traced to the pages causing them.

  • AI sentiment

How AI characterises your brand on evaluative questions — reputation, product quality, trust, employer brand, peer comparison — and where that characterisation comes from.

  • Sources & citations

Which sites, articles and datasets engines actually pull from when answering questions about you — where your narrative is being formed, and by whom.

Methodology

How we build your question bank

The set of prompts we put to every engine is the backbone of the audit. We build yours in four moves.

Intended-narrative mapping

We review brand guidelines, public material and stakeholder input to establish the narrative you intend, and the entity boundaries that go with it.

Stakeholder & topic mapping

We map the questions each audience actually asks AI — a buyer comparing options, an investor before a call, a journalist researching the company, a candidate weighing an offer.

Risk & accuracy probes

Built to expose where engines get you wrong: outdated facts, confused entities, misattributed products, retired claims and competitor mix-ups.

Peer benchmarking

The same questions framed against the competitors you actually lose to — for a reference point, not just a score.

The output: a bank of prioritised questions — typically 75–150 — covering the full breadth of priority topics across audiences, risk areas and decision contexts.

Breadth, not volume. We stop adding questions when new prompts no longer introduce a new persona, sub-topic or risk area. The objective is coverage of your narrative surface, not a large prompt count.

Scope & deliverables

What you get

Delivered as a written report plus a live walkthrough.

AI Visibility Report

How your brand appears across AI engines — where you show up, where you don't, and which brands appear instead.

Accuracy Audit

A catalogue of factual errors about your brand, scored by severity and reach, with the source pages driving each error.

Perception Analysis

How AI engines characterise your brand on evaluative questions — reputation, product quality, employer brand, peer comparisons — broken down by topic and audience.

Source & Citation Map

Which sites, articles and datasets engines pull from when describing your brand — where the narrative is actually being formed.

AI Representation Roadmap

Prioritised interventions across content, PR, knowledge sources, schema, entity signals and owned properties, based on the sources currently shaping AI answers.

How the engagement runs

Five weeks, from question design to a prioritised roadmap

Week 1

Discovery & question architecture

Brand and entity mapping plus stakeholder interviews, to architect a signed-off bank of 75–150 questions.

Weeks 2–3

Multi-engine audit

Structured testing across every engine. Each answer is logged with its citations, factual accuracy, sentiment and visibility flags.

Week 4

Scoring & synthesis

Accuracy scoring, sentiment scoring, source attribution and severity ratings across every answer. Draft report with the error catalogue and source map.

Week 5

Strategic readout

Final written report and a structured 90-minute session — findings, AI representation roadmap and action priorities.

Every answer, citation, accuracy score and sentiment score is captured and structured through the Paprik platform — you end up with a scored, queryable dataset, not a static PDF.

What we'd need from you

  • Discovery sessions (one or two) with your marketing, communications and brand team
  • A definitive brand reference: entities, leadership, products, markets, and the facts you want AI to get right
  • Existing brand documentation: guidelines, press materials, product pages, existing Q&As

Success metrics

What we measure you against

Different metrics apply to different question types. We agree the primary criterion for your brand in week 1.

Visibility

The percentage of relevant AI answers in which your brand appears when it should be represented — directly, or as part of a broader category, industry or comparison discussion.

Factual accuracy

The percentage of responses that correctly represent your brand's business, products, leadership and positioning against agreed reference sources.

Sentiment

On comparison, reputation and employer-brand questions, how positively or negatively AI characterises your brand — scored on Paprik's 0–100 Sentiment Index.

Citation share

How often your own pages, rather than third-party sources, are the ones engines cite when answering questions about you.

Measuring attribution

We don't rely on best practices

We run experiments, measure outcomes and double down on what works.

Baseline capture

Answers, citations, brand sentiment and share of voice captured before any intervention.

Test vs control clusters

Changes are compared against a stable set of untouched questions, to separate intervention effects from platform-wide drift.

Citation adoption

We track whether newly introduced assets begin appearing in AI citations — evidence that the work has entered the retrieval layer and is influencing answers.

Not every intervention works. Ongoing tracking reveals which signals AI engines actually pick up, and which they don't.

At scale

What an audit actually covers

From a recent engagement with a listed multi-company group, audited across all seven engines.

7,000

AI answers analysed

100 questions put to seven engines, every day for ten consecutive days.

22,540

factual claims judged

Every claim the engines made about the group, extracted and checked against a source of truth agreed with the client.

2,279

were incorrect

Nine in ten of them could not be traced to any cited page — the engines were filling gaps the group had left open.

After the audit

We can execute the roadmap for you

Most brands follow the audit with an ongoing engagement. We implement the agreed deliverables on your own site and on third-party sites, refresh the performance data every month, and run a leadership readout so you can see what moved and what didn't. Available in India and internationally.

Frequently asked questions

What does the AI Visibility Audit cost?
Audits are scoped to your brand — the number of entities, the breadth of the question bank and the engines in scope all affect it. Email [email protected] and we'll take you through pricing on a 30-minute call.
How long does the audit take?
Five weeks end to end. Week 1 is discovery and question architecture, weeks 2 and 3 are the multi-engine audit, week 4 is scoring and synthesis, and week 5 is the final report and a 90-minute strategic readout.
How many questions do you test?
Typically 75 to 150, agreed and signed off with you in week 1. The number depends on breadth of coverage, not volume — we stop adding questions when new ones no longer introduce a new audience, sub-topic or risk area.
Which AI engines do you audit?
All seven platforms Paprik supports: ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Copilot.
Is this a one-time engagement or ongoing?
The audit itself is one-time. Most brands follow it with ongoing implementation and monthly monitoring, where we execute the roadmap on your own site and on third-party sites, refresh the performance data monthly and run a leadership readout. That is a separate engagement.
Do we need to install anything on our website?
No. The audit runs entirely from outside your site — we ask the AI engines the questions your audiences ask, and analyse what comes back.
What do you need from our team?
One or two discovery sessions with your marketing, communications and brand team; a definitive brand reference covering entities, leadership, products and markets; and any existing brand documentation such as guidelines, press materials and product pages.
Is the audit available outside India?
Yes. The audit and the ongoing implementation engagement are both available internationally. Email [email protected] to discuss scope and timing for your market.
